Following a recent article on framing, color and simplicity (here), I continued my street shooting session looking for similar content. My exploration expanded to different parts of the city including lesser known areas. The aim was straightforward – look for bold colors that catch my attention; something unusual or out of the ordinary to isolate the subjects as much as possible. In order to do this, I made use of much longer focal lengths than usual with the Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm F1.8 seeing the most use. Developing a unique street photography style is not easy and mine is still a work in progress with a constantly evolving approach. Being able to go out and shoot is a privilege that I do not take lightly and I enjoy every single moment of my shutter therapy!
All images here were shot with Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II and M.Zuiko lenses 45mm F1.8 or 25mm F1.2 PRO.

agreeing on the ‘personal nature’ of art – any art; it’s always great to see images which highlight the dynamic nature of life, a place, a time… life, our planet, all living things, most all non-animate objects are most interesting in their ‘imperfect ways’. Imperfect but dynamic – its the real state of everything! It’s wonderful to see people not self-conscious about themselves. Comfortable in their skins. Or, often, in some state of emotion – and well willing to be unconcerned what others may think! This is true strength of character – seen in all living things.
Not quite the perfect image… a lamp post coming out of their heads… but still the focus and impact of the image overcomes the imperfect! The moment is important, the story it tells
Much as I love the Mona Lisa, I love Sunflowers and Starry Night even more! It’s not whatz ‘really’ out there, it’s what your mind sees when the waves/photons reach your retina.
‘Perfect’ is over-rated.
Robin, please keep finding the dynamic, the imperfect, the moment of impact, color, counter-point, life in motion.
rock on…
Jurij
I love these colors, it´s very „refreshing“ by hot days!
Many thanks for your interesting news that I always follow with pleasure!!!
Best regards from Switzerland
Please forgive me, but I’m always moved by your cats. And I’m afraid their lifes on the streets are not the happiest ones. I do have the tiny little hope, that you always have some kind of cat food with you, albeit this might be against the MAGNUM rules,- but it would serve humanity, which I would rate higher.
The boy on the road crossing is simply perfect. Life, colour and shape in harmony. Special.
Paul
Thanks Paul! Yes, indeed, life color and shape, everything in harmony, finding it in the chaotic world is not easy!
