So, if you’ve wanted an introduction to masking or basic retouching, or been curious how my ACR workflow looks, now’s the time to indulge. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Holidays! MT

  1. Well Ming over the past 6 months with your mentoring and guidance (and Amazon links) I am now set up with a working camera, micoradjusted lenses, adobe photoshop, a wacom intuso 5 tablet. Combined with your instructional essays, workflow DVD and ipad app, I have been able to delve into the wonderful world of photography and at such a rapid pace. You have helped me learn so much so quickly and am very grateful, yet I have only begun to scratch the surface of the power of the tools I now have. I look forward to using the videos you have so kindly offered at a reduced rate, and as this year comes to a close, want to say how much I appreciate all you have done and how I look forward to all your teaching and surprises that lie ahead in 2013. Wishing you a restful, healthy and happy holiday season.

  2. Hi Ming, I just bought ‘levels and curves’ and the video does play but has no audio. I tried the above advise on reinstalling the app and rebooting, etc…but still no audio. Please let me know what can be done to fix this.

    • Is your ipad volume muted? We had the same problem before with somebody who had the volume on their ipad set to zero – try the slider in the taskbar.

      • Hi Ming, Ah…I wanted to say..off course I’ve checked the volume. And in my defence I did. I checked audio and video in different apps and it all worked fine, just not the video in yours. But you are right, I hadn’t noticed that the hardware (mute or rotation lock) switch above the volume switches was ‘on’. In all apps, in practice, this can be overridden by the volume settings. So if you use the volume slider, audio works in most app’s even when the mute switch is ‘on’. Strange when you think about it…oh well. Your application honours the hardware mute and as such was the only one in which the audio didn’t work.

Of course it works fine now, and I immediately downloaded more episodes of your tutorials, very helpful. Thank you for the discount and happy holiday season.

        • We thought that the last thing you would want was to hear my voice if you had hardware mute on ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy and happy holidays – thanks for the support!

Hi Ming, I just bought 3 videos (Intro to ACR, Levels & Curves and Sharpening). But I can play only one (Sharpening) … the “play” button does not appear for the other two videos. I tried the Restore function but still no difference. Not sure what’s the problem here. Thanks.

Is there a way to obtain all the videos that are available with the App even for the ones who don’t have Ipad?
I mean..I have your workflow DVD. Did you plan to release these videos ina dvd form, too?
    Bye Bye

    • The only other two short videos whose material isn’t covered on the DVD are Masking and Basic Retouching. The rest are on the DVD, but with different examples. These two topics will be covered in a much longer ‘Intermediate Photoshop’ full DVD next year.

  5. Hi Ming, greetings from Canada. I would like to suggest that you make the app free and maybe supply one free video.. that way people will get a taste of your excellent material and be inclined to purchase more. I think people may get turned off by the fact that one needs to invest $1.99 just to see what material is available…

By the way, this is my first post.. I follow your blog religiously!

    • Brian, I wrote an enormous dictionary that’s exclusive to the app (and not available anywhere else) which is the bulk of what you’re paying for. It’s just that there’s so much other functionality buried in there that this fact sometimes gets lost ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. What about buying all the episodes, is there one click for a package of them, at a discount? Thanks

    • From the 17th, there will already be a huge discount on the individual videos…no facility in the Apple restrictions to let us do ‘buy all’, unfortunately.

  7. As of this morning, the price for your videos remains at $5.99 at your store. When does the $1.99 price become effective?

    Looks neat! Android support?

    • Thanks. Just iPad for now…it wouldn’t work on small screens, and I’ve yet to recover the development costs from the iOS version ๐Ÿ™‚

      • My Android tablet’s resolution is the same as the iPad(s) so that’s not an argument! Fair enough about the development costs though! :p Looks like a good platform, so It’ll probably be worth it in the end.

        • It’s not that, there’s nothing preventing you from running (or trying to run) the app on a smartphone – and that might cause issues. I haven’t ruled it out, just not in the immediate future. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Thank you very much, I appreciate your offer and bought the App.
I will be browsing it during my holidays. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Definitely going to spend a few bucks here to satisfy my curiousity.

Any plans to do genre specific processing videos? e.g. studio portraits, how to process them.

    • If there’s demand, yes – so far, no demand. I think people are still getting the basic workflow under wraps. ‘Studio portraits’ is another huge entire topic unto itself. It’s not a 10 minute segment. Advanced Photoshop and Photoshop Workbook are in the works for next year. I might do Lightroom too.
