Hanoi is one of the more interesting places I’ve been recently – these images were shot during downtime on a business trip about a year ago. It’s a fascinating mix of French colonial and Southeast Asian chaos; juxtapositions abound, and rich textures are plenty – making for great shooting. Part one, in color. I’m told Ho Chi Minh City is a lot more developed an interesting, but I haven’t had a chance to visit yet. MT
This set shot with a Nikon D700, 85/1.4G and 28-300/3.5-5.6 VR.
Quantum mechanics at work again: the scene changed because the subjects noticed the photographer.
A vomit-inducing ride. Notice passenger on the right hand bike.
Hi Ming.
I really enjoy reading your blog, it was btw your articles regarding D800 that made that I found your site.
I got my D800 delivered 29th March and must say that I also am deeply impressed with what it can deliver. Even though it has meant that I had to buy new lenses … But the joy of new glass is in my eyes at least as great as the joy of a new body. π
Is it possible that You will make a post about how You create this special cinematic look i You’re pictures?
Thanks in advance.
Please continue the good work!
/Kasper
Thanks Kasper. It’s all in the workflow and processing…I am working on a series of articles as we speak, probably towards the end of May π
Ciao, very interesting to see this part of the world through your eyes, and great shots! π
Thanks Lynne! Part two coming soon.
Once again- applause! I enjoy the entire flavor of your style & subject matters- thanks for sharing!
Ps: how do you technically insert your name into the border- would love to learn π
Thanks! It’s a simple Photoshop action – add border, then put text in. Repeat.
